Rope Clamps are available in RED, WHITE, BLUE, GREEN and BLACK. Black is the strongest. A 2-3% decrease in strength occurs when colors are introduced into the material. The rope clamps were designed for solid braided nylon rope although they work great on many types. For some ropes (ex. Hemp rope) it may be necessary to go to a larger sized clamp for the clamp to fit properly and work correctly due to the density of the particular rope. For instance, for a 1/2” hemp rope, you may have to go to a 5/8” rope clamp. The same holds true for nylon double braided rope which normally measures greater than the nominal size.
